In a team, each person is important. But how and why make them aware of their importance and congratulate them properly?
In business, we all have a common goal, to which everyone contributes when it is achieved. Sometimes some may have contributed more than others, or are more involved, and it is important to reward them and honor their work and dedication.
As a manager for example, you may have played an important role in a project and made your contribution, and you wonder if the project could have succeeded if you were not there to see it through. plan to follow.
We are also seeing this type of method develop more and more. If we look at Europe and the United States, we can see a difference. Here, our way of working is not yet totally focused on encouragement like in the United States, although some companies are starting to develop this practice. There, the corporate spirit is positive, encouraging, we reassure and believe in the success of something or someone, even if sometimes it can almost seem too overrated...
Many too often notice when there are errors but rarely encourage by congratulating when things go well, even for simple things which can ultimately be the little extra to highlight in a colleague. For example, at school we usually heard "it's not good, it's lousy..." following bad grades, whereas what we need to hear to progress and give ourselves is similar more like “that’s good, keep moving forward”.
When I got back on a motorcycle in the USA after my accident, everyone was super happy and proud of me. And thanks to that, I said to myself “but it’s true, it’s a victory!” ", yet I was just getting back on a motorcycle, and you have to realize the little things that make big successes. Thanks to this state of mind, we realize how far we have come and how far we can go if we give ourselves the means.
For business salespeople, it's the same. Rewarding them creates motivation and competition between them to go further and push them to surpass themselves. It is always stimulating and favorable for the future to receive a trophy or a first place. This creates a leitmotif that will make them want to be first every year by seeking the most possible results. It's a challenge, the teams can get involved and a good working atmosphere develops while striving for efficiency. It is very important to put yourself in the shoes of your colleagues and create a pleasant and motivating working environment for them.
But rewarding doesn’t just mean giving away trophies. As mentioned earlier, this requires encouragement throughout the year. If a manager becomes aware and pays attention to the work that his team does, and helps them to surpass themselves by remaining positive even when the objective is not yet achieved, we are already making good progress in before to have employees who are motivated and fulfilled in their work, which will necessarily promote results!
All this also helps to develop self-confidence, personal satisfaction, self-esteem... Factors that cannot be neglected in the search for performance, fulfillment and personal development.
Obviously, employees like to be highlighted, to be rewarded, they need to feel important and to have a rewarding relationship with the boss to give the best of themselves.
It’s clear that it’s always better to be rewarded than to be ignored… right?
